Father’s Day, 2014

I always dreamed of doing crafty type gifts from my kids to my husband for Father’s Day & I finally began that tradition last year when our oldest was 2 & my step-kids were 9 & 12. I kept it really simple my first time around. Here’s what we did.

The framed foot print is of my then 2-year-old. The mason jar of Reese's Pieces was from my step-kids, then ages 9 & 12.

This year I added a 3-month-old to the mix. Cintron #4. The idea came from Pinterest. Duh…as my daughter would say.

I commissioned my church friend, and artist, to do the painting for me. She applied her own artistic interpretation to it and I couldn’t have been more delighted.

This is the pin that someone shared of their project.

Then, came the fun part. Get 8 hand prints, some ginormous (seriously, my stepson grows every other day) & some miniature, onto one canvas and make memories in the process.

I think we succeeded.

Happy Father’s Day to my husband who doesn’t believe his role as husband and father stops at “provider”. He does that amazingly well, but he does so much more. He is concerned with the spirit of his children and is intentional with his parenting. He is affectionate & always tells them he loves them.  He is one awesome parenting partner and I heart him always.
